  • "Today, CNC offers seminars, readings, and colloquia, and hosts the Dzanc/Disquiet Conference (named after Pessoa’s The Book of Disquiet) in the first half of July. Disquiet brings Anglophone writers to Lisbon, including from the Portuguese diaspora, for workshops, readings, excursions, and lectures on Portuguese and English-language literature.   • Independent publisher Dzanc Books will host a writing retreat in Lisbon starting this summer, in partnership with Portuguese cultural organizations. The program's faculty includes Brian Evenson from Brown University; Nick Flynn, who teaches at the University of Houston; and Josip Novakovich, who teaches at Concordia University in Montreal. The program will also feature a visit from from Pulitzer Prize winner Junot Díaz, author of "The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao."
